How it works: one QR code, one shared photo album.

Four steps. You do the first two. You create the event in the app, your guests shoot from their browser, and the shared photo album fills up as the night goes on.

Only the host needs the app, on iPhone. Your guests have nothing to install.

Share your event photos by QR code, in four steps

01

You create the event

In the WeWere app on iPhone: a name, a date, an event type, a film stock. Thirty seconds. You pick the tier based on how many photos you expect; guests are unlimited.

02

You share the QR

WeWere generates a QR code and a link. Print the table card provided, drop the link in the WhatsApp group, or display the code at the entrance. Same code for everyone.

03

Your guests shoot

They scan, sign in with the Apple or Google account they already have, and the camera opens in the browser — nothing to install. Every photo lands in the album within a second. Those who also install the app find the album among their events, with film stocks and the live wall.

04

Everyone leaves with the album

During the event: the live wall on screen. After: the Wrapped, the recap film, and 45 days to download photos at full resolution.

What you set up in the app, as the host

Everything happens in the WeWere app on iPhone. You name the event, choose its size — a total number of photos for the whole event, with unlimited guests — and set what will give the album its look: the film stock, one of the five available (Original, 35mm, Black & White, Polaroid, 90s, all with the orange date stamp of a real disposable), the cover photo, and the mode. In live mode, photos appear in the album as they’re taken. In reveal mode, they stay hidden until the time you choose.

The app then gives you a QR code, a link, and a table card to print. A longer guest list costs nothing more. If the album fills up, the app warns you beforehand and you add photos in a few taps, even during the event.

What your guests see in the browser

They scan the QR or open the link in Safari or Chrome, on iPhone and Android alike. They sign in with the Apple or Google account they already have, and the camera opens. There’s no limit per guest: everyone shoots from the event’s shared photo counter. They see the event album, save their own photos, and can report a photo that shouldn’t be there.

A guest never pays for anything: if the album fills up, the host adds photos from the app. The film stocks, the live wall, the recap film and the Wrapped are features of the app.

The live wall, during the event

The WeWere live wall: a QR to open on a laptop or TV to project the photos

From the app, you turn on the live wall and open its link on the laptop plugged into the venue screen. Photos roll in as they arrive. The live wall is included from the 300-photo tier up. For the screen setup itself, read our guide to projecting photos on a screen.

After: 45 days, then the album goes offline

The recap film edited in the WeWere app at the end of the wedding

One album per event. It stays online for 45 days. During that time, everyone can download what they want, free, at full resolution. In the app, you share the Wrapped — photo count, the guests who shot the most, the highlights — and the recap film.

Want to keep it longer? Add the Keep one year option to this album and it stays online for a year instead: $2.99 if you choose it when creating the event (paid tiers), $5.99 if you add it later.

What it costs

One payment per event, through the App Store, no subscription. Unlimited guests on every tier: free for 40 photos, $29.99 for 2,500. As a guide, count 5 to 8 photos per guest. See pricing. Planning a wedding? Read the wedding page and our wedding photo game ideas.

Frequently asked questions

What if I have an Android phone?

To create the event, you need an iPhone. Your guests join from any phone, iPhone or Android.

What if a guest has no signal?

The web camera needs a connection to upload photos. If the venue has poor coverage, put the Wi-Fi details on the table card.

Who can see the album?

Only the members of the event: the people who joined with the link or the QR code. Nothing is public.

Can I delete a photo?

Yes. The host can remove any photo from the album at any time, and remove a guest from the event.
